Against All Odds Despite having only a two man team, Team Trenton still pulled off another tournament victory going 6-0 in the two day Conn. event. Bomb Squad Powerhouse John Dewees of the Bomb Squad dressed a little early for Holloween, but led his team to the final rounds of the Wiffle®Up World Championship. The Bone Darren “The Natural” Bone of the Lakeside Kings proudly displays Team Trenton's Colors. The Boston Bubble NJWA members Fred Bastedo and Mike Palinczar went to the Boston area to test a new plastic ball called Action Ball, the trip was a great success and the playing field indoors was awesome! Brophy in Brazil The NJWA’s Chief Umpire Matt C. Brophy soaks up the sun on the beaches of Rio. Since umpires are not used in tournaments, Brophy is now head of International Relations. I think the NJWA is paying this guy too much, Rio!!!! Calling NASA Tom Locascio is on the phone via satellite with NASA trying to figure out the brackets at the RI tournament, single elimination when we say so, silly rules. Chicago, Chicago!! Coyle, Brophy, Daddio, Bastedo and Palinczar turn the town upside down. Chicago Heat Chris Becktold of the Becktold Bombers tosses one in there, Becktold led the Bombers to second place in the National Tournament in 1995 and 1996. In Brazil soccer is the big sport, but many beach-goers were interested in what the guys were doing on the beach with the little yellow bat. There is still hope for Wiffle®Ball in the Olympics in Rio 2004. NJWA at Perry’s NJWA members had a blast at Little Mike's 21st birthday bash at Perry’s Clubhouse.
